Material Proposition allowed artists to plan and construct each model by carefully utilizing various design methods while considering the composition of the figures.
The design of each model is based on different proposition methods that were introduced in the class. Through layering, assembling, carving, stacking, and casting the students were designated to create abstract models by translating each proposition style based on their own individual interests.

Composition Style: Layering
Material Used: Museum Board

The first composition is Layering. By reorganizing the layers to form consistent spacing, it allows the model to occupy positive and negative spaces in equal manners.
Sudden curves and irregular angle of the figure creates layers to be overlapped. The overlapping area creates interior space, allowing light and shadows to interact with the model.

Composition Style: Assemble
Material Used: Museum Board, Foam Board

Composition Style: Assemble
Material Used: Wires (20 gauge)
The second encountered challenge was to create a figure by performing an assembly in the model. By redefining adhesive tools as a natural phenomenon in our model the figure begins to create its own geometrical stance.

Composition Style: Casting
Material Used: Plaster
The method of casting was far more intriguing than any other material proposition. The practice of visualizing the negative and positive space is necessary for designing these figures.
While sustaining similar designs for each plaster figure the main goal was to iterate and experiment with various methods of portraying lines and grid onto these figures.
